Special Academic Events

WHS includes several academic events into the curriculum to give the students experience in public speaking, knowledge of different cultures and areas of study. The Special Academic Events include:

Academic Fairs

Biography Fair

The last day of October is the day to celebrate the annual Biography Fair. Each student in grades one through twelve comes dressed as some significant person in history. Each class has judges (parents, community leaders, graduates) who give feedback to the students on their 3-5 minute presentations. A parade of all students follows where parents can ask any student to tell about who they are. This is one of the ways public speaking is a part of the curriculum.


Science Fair

Each student in grades one through twelve presents a Scientific experiment to their classmates. They are judged by a panel of parents, community leaders and senior students.
